POENG Sonita

Sonita joined our scholarship program in January 2024 after graduating from Sangke High School. She was born on 18 May 2005 in Prey Touch Village. She is currently attending Build Bright University, with a major in information technology. Her career goal is to become an app developer and a programmer.

Sonita's English language skills are excellent. She started studying English in grade 6 at the CVF English language program at the Bill and Nancy Kuan Khlong Primary School. Later she transferred to HDLF to improve her conversation skills.

She has a younger brother and a younger sister. Her parents are rice farmers. Her brother dropped out of school when he was 15 to get a job to help support the family.

Sonita told us, "College education is so important for our life and future and for me, I want to join college because I want to improve myself to be a better person with a specific skill and to chase my dream."
