POENG Sonita

Sonita joined our scholarship program in January 2024 after graduating from Sangke High School. She is currently attending Build Bright University, with a major in information technology. Her career goal is to become an app developer and a programmer.

Sonita's English language skills are excellent. She started studying English in grade 6 at the CVF English language program at the Bill and Nancy Kuan Khlong Primary School. Later she transferred to HDLF to improve her conversation skills.

She has a younger brother and a younger sister. Her parents are rice farmers. Her brother dropped out of school when he was 15 to get a job to help support the family.

Sonita told us, "College education is so important for our life and future and for me, I want to join college because I want to improve myself to be a better person with a specific skill and to chase my dream."
