Computer Lab Program

Our program equips over 100 students with critical digital literacy skills for 21st century careers.

About the Program

A generous gift from Soroptimists International of La Jolla has paved the way for a full-fledged program. Launched in 2026, our Computer Lab Program provides a vital digital foundation for students in grades 4-12. The curriculum focuses on essential, hands-on skills in typing, Microsoft Office, research, and internet safety that empower students to navigate the modern world with confidence.

The program is led by two dedicated instructors, including a CVF scholarship student majoring in Information Technology. As an IT major, she does more than build technical skills in her students. She serves as a powerful role model, demonstrating that a professional career in technology is an attainable goal for someone from their own community.

Why Digital Literacy Matters

In Prey Touch Commune, access to computers is scarce, even at public schools. Accessing STEM and computer education empowers students to envision themselves as programmers, engineers, and graphic designers, diverse careers that once felt entirely out of reach. For a student in Prey Touch Commune, mastering a computer is the first step toward a career that can support a family and uplift an entire community.

Solar Energy Support

Thanks to a generous donation from the Kaspar family, our computer lab is almost completely powered by solar energy. This not only reduces program costs, it demonstrates CVF’s commitment to sustainability.
