Health Initiatives

Expanding access to healthcare and health education removes barriers to learning and opportunity. Through partnerships and volunteer support, we help foster healthy, resilient communities.

Oral Health Education Program

Many Cambodian children suffer from untreated dental problems that cause pain, limit nutrition, and make it difficult to focus in school. Yet most children in rural areas never receive even basic dental education due to lack of knowledge, limited access to dentists, and systemic poverty.

Healthy Teeth, Healthy Lives

CVF is building an oral health education program that teaches children daily habits like proper brushing and preventive care. As the program grows, we plan to partner with local dentists and organizations so students can receive both education and professional treatment. By helping children care for their teeth early, we can prevent pain, improve health, and support their ability to succeed in school and beyond.

When students enter our scholarship program at age 18, many face serious untreated dental problems that require extensive and costly treatment, highlighting the urgent need for early education and prevention.

The average dental cost for a scholarship student starting in our program is $550.

Providing toothbrushes and toothpaste for 200 students costs $450.

Eye Care

We’ve brought life-changing eye care, glasses, and cataract surgeries to hundreds in Cambodian villages, giving the gift of clear vision at no cost.

Our Shared Vision

In partnership with SEVA Foundation, an international organization that provides eye care to third world countries, we have conducted several eye clinics in Kaun Khlong and Prey Touch Villages. SEVA’s professional staff instructs teachers on how to give eye tests to the young and old alike. For those needing glasses, SEVA delivers the prescription glasses to the village and fits each person. We make a donation to SEVA and distribute the glasses at no charge.

Older people, requiring cataract surgery or treatment for glaucoma, go to the clinic in Battambang at no charge. Over 100 people have received cataract surgery to date. What a miraculous time to be with the villagers when they first see the world clearly again. Thank you SEVA for your beautiful gifts of sight.

With your help, more villagers can receive the life-changing gift of sight.
