THORN Malay, Bachelor’s Degree, 2024
Malay joined our Scholarship program in February 2022. She is from Prey Domrey village. She graduated from the National University of Battambang in 2024 with a degree in English Literature. Born on 15 January 2001, she is the youngest of 6 children. Her parents are rice farmers. Four of her older siblings are farmers as well – none of them had the opportunity to pursue a higher education.
After graduating, Malay wrote a very sweet note: “After I joined the CVF scholarship program, felt I have two families. I am so lucky that they gave me this chance. They support me not only with the finance, but also with my emotional problems. They motivated me and encouraged me. In short, deep thanks for what you did for me. You helped not only me, but also my parents because you’ve reduced their burden. So, I want to express my gratitude to all of you that you worked so hard to do fund raising from other sponsors in your country even we have different nationalities.”
Malay currently works as an English teacher at USA International School in Battambang. She would love to study abroad.
