After a 20-year wait, the principal of Prean Nil Primary School finally saw his dream come true. This remote village was the last in its commune to receive a new school building—and now, thanks to the generosity of Syed Balkhi, it has a beautiful one. This marks the 10th school building constructed under CVF’s leadership.
The new three-room structure has two classrooms and a library. Imagine the students stepping into an inviting, bight room – polished floor tiles, walls freshly painted in a cheerful yellow, ceiling fans spinning quietly, a big chalkboard and whiteboard, and new tables and chairs. Then picture the children faces as they entered their first-ever library—with shelves of colorful books, cozy flower-shaped floor pillows, and posters of fruits and animals on the walls, and a globe on the table for them to begin exploring the world. Does that sound like a place made to inspire? A space that invites children to learn and feel proud to be there? We think so. And we’ve seen the difference it makes. A clean, welcoming learning environment lifts the value of education in the eyes of the whole community. We made a slideshow showing scenes of the big day.

The opening ceremony of the new school building was a joyful and meaningful occasion, marking a fresh chapter for students, teachers, and the entire community. A clean, safe environment to learn is essential for students to grow, dream, and thrive, and this new facility reflects a deep commitment to their future. The building stands as a powerful message to everyone in the community: education matters. By investing in a place where children can feel secure, inspired, and valued, the community is saying that learning is a priority, and every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. To emphasize the importance of education the ceremony aired on Cambodia national television. A video made by the Cambodian camera team captures the energy and excitement of the day. You can watch it here.

Our Cambodian Village Fund community has so much to celebrate – and it’s all thanks to you.
